Treasury Manager
Daily cash management, cash forecasting, debt management, investment management, interest rate hedging, risk management, foreign exchange, continuous quality improvement.
- Manage all of company's banking relationships and all cash transactions. Ensure efficient use of $23 million line of credit and effective investment of excess cash balances within guidelines of company's credit agreements.
- Manage all debt transactions associated with $130 million of senior debt. Serve as liaison with all lenders, providing financial reports, debt covenant calculations and other information as requested. Instrumental in initiating and implementing several important amendments to debt agreements. Assisted CFO in implementing previous refinancing of debt and, more recently, establishing new debt structure upon merger with Canadian company.
- Effectively manage variable rate debt including the use of interest rate derivative instruments to reduce company's interest rate risk exposure.
- Assist in start up of foreign subsidiaries in Great Britain, Mexico, China, and Argentina and support their ongoing operations. This includes establishing local bank accounts, providing adequate funding, assisting with development of corporate legal structures, ensuring all debt covenants relating to foreign investment are met, and overseeing all financial foreign exchange activities including investigation of potential hedging instruments.
- Provide ongoing analysis of company’s workers compensation insurance expense and potential exposure to CFO and CEO in order to support expense reduction efforts. Work together with broker in ensuring year-end audits by insurance carriers are performed correctly and refunds are received. Act as liaison with insurance carriers in establishing cash collateral and standby letter of credit balance requirements for coverage.
- Serve as co-facilitator on Six Sigma and Kaizen projects with the goal of providing process enhancements and major expense reductions for the company. One of these projects was aimed at reducing workers compensation losses by 25%.

Investment management, strategic financial planning and analysis, debt management, and interest expense and investment income budget preparation for the entire corporation.
- Oversight of corporation's $250 million long-term investment pool. Analyzed investment performance on an ongoing basis, maintained appropriate asset allocation within the pool, and assisted in selection of investment managers.
- Facilitated issuance of $105 million tax exempt bond issue which refinanced existing debt. Provided final review and approval of information for the public offering statement and all other relevant documentation. Oversaw investment of bond proceeds in an escrow account which yielded approximately $50 thousand in arbitrage savings to the corporation.
- Continually monitored financial performance of the corporation by computing ratios and other indicators involving debt and profitability. The results were reported to the board of directors as well as to outside financial institutions as required by the master debt indenture for the corporation.
